Daffodils By Wordsworth

Saw a line of this poem on the back page of my note book, when suddenly it routed me to class
7th, the year we had this poem in our course... hah, how I mugged up this poem in order to get good marks in oral recitation exam. Today, when i re- read the whole poem, understood the profound depth in the meaning of poem....

Today, after residing in Dehradun,Delhi and now in Pune, I find myself as that wandered cloud. Bumping into so many strangers, making some friends, few close friends, I again move on alone exploring a new place again making it a habitat. And this sojourn continues....
In this world of competition, I am tired of contending with superficiality ... putting up fake smiles even when I dont wish to... giving up days and night's sleep even when I know that work might give me joy but takes away mind and soul's serenity... to be in crowd of people , Iknow are my fair weather pals.... what all is left is just a hope,,, a hope to get back to that innocence childhood, where friendship meant purity, fighting over small things knowing that it will be resolved in next 15 minutes,,, a task didnt have such rigrous deadlines that it can ruin your career,,, competetion was just in a game and not in life....wish to get back to that place of Him parbat, where nature beckons, its god creativity, not man made.... where the trees and sun used to play with us, sometimes trees showed the power, sometimes sun showed its strength...
I wander lonely as that cloud, and again when I see the daffodils shine like a sun creating a divine halo effect , where waves dance in their own amusement, stars smiling in their own ecstacy, these souls seem to me those carefree innocent kids who still havent lost their shine of virtue,,,, I look at them and smile, ahhh,..... and find my childhood's reflection in them. So, beautiful , so graceful.... I am no more lonely....

  4. Profound thoughts Isha!
Wandering lonely as a crowd is sometimes so rejuvenating, it teaches us to look again and not just see, to listen and not just hear. In the bustled world that we live in today, I only pray that we don't miss the chance to enjoy nature's beauty and be enchanted in her loving embrace. And that's when, as Wordsworth rightly put it, "..my heart with pleasure fills, and dances with the daffodils".

  5. On behalf of Ms. Sujata Kumar (renowned actress and a beautiful person)-
I wandered lonely as a cloud: Loneliness is a state of mind when you have not had the pleasure of meeting yourself: mama says.
For oft when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood
they flash upon that inward eye, which is the bliss of solitude
and then my heart with pleasure fills,
    ...And dances with the daffodils
