Wow! What a phenomenal poem. Sincerely speaking, even I could not digest this poem for I, myself, do not possess such an air of confidence in my persona so as to look up to the world and say- my inner self outshines, come what may, I am not afraid of this gruesome world !!!
And here, the woman is so certain of herself that neither she needs to flourish it, nor she requires to hide it. It is just reflected in her style, in her smile. The ungratified, low self esteemed women who spend endless hours on their epidermal beauty can’t solve the mystery of this confidence, they keep on pondering, neither is she beautiful, nor is she perfect, then how can she be so pleased with herself? She doesn’t have the figure of a model, but when she walks past, nobody fails to notice, when she smiles, nobody fails to smile back to her, and when she speaks, nobody fails to pay attention.
Even men could not succeed in demystifying the reason of that magnetism in her. Knowing she doesn’t have a general appeal skin color, or height, or shape, or hair, then what is it that cajoles them to turn their heads again and again….???
Hmmm…. May be that’s the poise of just being a woman, or maybe that’s the self-assurance of just being an individual …. Someone might be similar to her but can’t be her. Her individuality always remains unplagiarised, untouched. Nobody can be what she is; the world cannot steal her distinctiveness from her that she had been endowed with.
USP, we call it USP (Unique Selling Proportion) in our media language. What is there in you that no one has? Every person has a USP or an unparallel talent of his own ,its distinctive, no one else has it and that attribute of yours makes you different from others, that makes you feel proud of yourself because that is just present in you and in nobody else… It’s just a matter of deciphering and pulling out the hidden thing from you. Those who find it, succeed, and those who don’t, get wrenched in this cobweb of synthetic production.
This poem ought to be an eye opener for all those people of my gender who unthinkingly fall prey to the consumerist honchos, who unrelentingly debase the purity of their natural composition and succeed in languishing their soul, getting succumbed to the superficial layer of beauty… Making us hate our own bodies is their aim, they succeed, and we spend countless hours in enhancing our looks to satiate our eternal insatiable desire to be “The Best”.
After writing this blog, ummm….I think I have demystified the anonymity and yes, now it’s a feel good factor, now I have explored my enroute to confidence, one day I will achieve it and will completely be able to relate this beautiful, powerful piece of writing to myself. Ciao.
